The walking trails are great here since they have a variety of incline/difficulty as well as distance. The beach area is also nice and well maintained. You also can't beat the gorgeous views of the lakes. One of my favorite state parks in the area.

Been coming to this park for over 25 years. Since the campground was added I see more trash in the woods each year. Particularly alcohol cans and bottles. If you plan to hunt be prepared to see lots of stands, overcrowded parking and too many groups of pushers and disruptions. Used to be a great place where everyone respected each other. Now walkers make an enormous amount of noise, cars are everywhere and dog owners are leaving too much trash behind. Safety zones seem to be poorly planned and researched and roads could use a sprucing up. Not sure why there is so much mowed areas and give me a break on the impassable prairie grass planted at the front of the park. Controlled burns were done to bring down invasive plants but all it did was give rooms for more briars and thorns.

Good hiking trails. RV park ok but spaces fairly small. Really nice beach.

A family favorite. Something to do for everyone. Bring bikes. Rent a boat. Swim. Take a hike or long walk. Serene. (Except for when that jerk who lives nearby buzzes you with his drone.)

Cool park for day trips and camping but seems to be declining. Last time the beaches were covered in goose poo because the guy that combs them was on vacation. I couldn't find a park ranger when I needed one but they had no problem finding me to make me remove my (tree safe) hammock. And of all my visits, the boat rental has never been open.
